Now on WEDNESDAY – conveniently located right on the trade show floor! – it’s the IGC Show 2019 Party & Concert with San Francisco rock music legends STARSHIP featuring Mickey Thomas live in a very special performance, exclusively for IGC Show attendees and exhibitors of all ages. There’s no better way to wrap up the day’s order-writing - networking with your peers over scrumptious finger foods and snacks while enjoying your beverage of choice from the bar. And now with the new earlier scheduling, there’s still lots of time to enjoy Chicago’s nightlife after the show.STARSHIP, one of the most iconic rock bands of our time, is known for their timeless anthems, “We Built This City,” “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now,” “Sara” and other shining audio gems. The band’s frontman, Mickey Thomas, joined Jefferson Starship in 1979. His voice was already a legend, thanks to the hit, “Fooled Around and Fell in Love,” he recorded with the Elvin Bishop Band. Jefferson Starship quickly proved to be the right decision for his next move, as they recorded their first hit, “Jane,” almost immediately after getting together. In 1985, Starship released the album that would come to define the ’80s, “Knee Deep in the Hoopla.” Touting two No. 1 hits – “We Built this City” and “Sara” – the album reached No. 7 on the Billboard charts and went platinum. They followed their initial success with another No. 1 hit classic, “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now.” As they continued to reach the top of the charts, MTV infiltrated pop culture and the band released videos for all of their hits that are still popular today. Today, the fan-love for Starship’s music continues to cross generations. The band’s music is featured in numerous popular soundtracks, including the film Guardians of the Galaxy and the popular TV series Glee.
